In working as a consultant overseas, I am often in the situation of having to work within very tight time constraints.  My consultancies can be as short as two weeks at a time and during that short period, when only one or two sessions with each client may be possible, my aim is to help the client move closer to their goal of creating change in their lives or improving their stress management and coping skills.

Many of the clients I help have a very limited time in which to achieve their aims, or in which to de-stress from their very pressured lives - they may only be able to spare two or three days out of their busy schedules to do something for their health and wellbeing. This, surprisingly, can work in their favour as far as achieving a mental or emotional breakthrough is concerned!

BRIEF GOAL-FOCUSED THERAPY USES HYPNOSIS TO FACILITATE THE PROCESS OF CHANGE.

My experience is that the very concentrated focus of time, attention, and intention that clients bring to their goals in these circumstances enables them to achieve a great deal with their mind in a very short space of time.  From this experience I have learned that, given only a short period of time to work with, the mind can find a solution to a problem very quickly, but when given all the time in the world - no time constraints - the mind will take all the time in the world!

My development of Brief Goal-Focussed Therapy grew out of necessity - the necessity to get the subconscious mind to support the achievement of whatever goal the client is focussed on and deal with any psychological and emotional obstacles to achieving that goal - even if the client is not consciously aware of any particular problem - and to do it in the shortest time possible!

So, instead of addressing a particular problem, we are addressing a particular goal, and getting the two minds - conscious and subconscious - working in harmony towards the achievement of that goal.  Your conscious mind rarely knows what may be standing in the way of your goals, but your subconscious mind most certainly does!    And hypnosis enables direct communication with the subconscious mind where all the information required to support the change is stored.  And it doesn’t have to be something huge and traumatic!   It could  simply be the influence of negative beliefs, negative attitudes, false assumptions and other outdated programs that continue to dictate your actions, reactions, and thinking and emotional patterns long beyond their usefulness.

Brief Goal-Focussed Therapy enables you to harness the power of your subconscious mind to support the achievement of those goals your intention is particularly focussed on.

BRIEF GOAL-FOCUSED THERAPY CAN GIVE YOU THAT EXTRA  “KICK START” NEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD WHEN YOU CAN’T IDENTIFY WHAT IT IS THAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK.  IT CAN BE EFFECTIVE IN:

· PROVIDING A SUPPORTIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL ENVIRONMENT FOR CHANGE

· DISCOVERING AND ELIMINATING ANY BELIEFS THAT MAY BE GETTING IN THE WAY OF ACHIEVEMENT

· PROVIDING RELIEF FROM EXECUTIVE STRESS BY INDUCING A DEEP MENTAL RELAXATION

· RELIEVING EMOTIONAL DISTRESS AND ANXIETY

· RELIEVING PHYSICAL TENSON AND DISCOMFORT

· GENERATING A SENSE OF WELLBEING

· ENHANCING COPING SKILLS

ALTHOUGH DEEP-SEATED PROBLEMS MAY REQUIRE MORE SESSIONS, CLIENTS WHO HAVE HAD ONLY A VERY SHORT TIME TO WORK ON THEMSELVES HAVE EXPERIENCED CHANGE IN OLD PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOUR AFTER JUST ONE SESSION.
